Noted that the Management Office (ActionVest Management) does not manage or handle any in-unit maintenance or repair unless it is a pressing emergency that will affect other units or the common areas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Elevator<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Contact the Management Office during business hours if the elevator is not functioning. Maintenance will only be scheduled during business hours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Elevator (Emergency) <\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>If someone is trapped inside a non-functioning elevator, call 911 immediately.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Loss of Electricity (Common Areas) <\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>If the light is out in the hallways, stairwells, foyer or exterior of the building<strong>,<\/strong> contact the Management Office during business hours. If there is a blackout, contact Eversource.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Loss of Electricity (In-Unit) <\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>If it is only the unit that is affected, residents need to locate the unit\u2019s circuit breaker panel and identify if there are any tripped switches. Circuit breaker panel is located near the kitchen within the unit. If breakers are functioning properly, contact your landlord(s) or their realtor\/agent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>No Heat (In-Unit) <\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>First, locate the zone valve and check if it is operational (it will make movement sound as the thermostat is pushed up\/down). Contact neighbors see if they are also without heat. If other units are affected or the common pipes are cold, contact the Management Office. In most cases, the problem is only within your unit, the cause is likely a non-functioning valve or thermostat, the repair of which is the responsibility of the Unit Owners.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>No Hot Water <\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>First, contact the neighbors and see if they are also without hot water. TVs, computers monitors, large printers\/copiers, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, stoves, air-conditioners, water heaters, and other electronic equipment can contain hazardous material. These items require a permit for disposal. The city will offer curdside pick up these items for a small free if you call 617-635-4500 or schedule pickup on DPW website.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Large Item Recycling (Permit Required. No Fee)<\/strong> \u2013 Free curdside pick up is offered for bicycles, metal desks and cabinets, grills, exercise, lawnmowers and snow-blowers. Apply a pickup permit on DPW website.<\/li>\n<li><strong>DO NOT<\/strong> leave any one of the items mentioned in or around the dumpster. Please visit DPW website to schedule a free pick-up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Check your smoke\/CO detector annually<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><span>Unit Smoke\/CO Detectors are not tied into the building system so they are not monitored and will not notify the Fire Department when they go off.
